In Thracian folk culture bread, as a symbol of happiness and prosperity, is offered to all family joys. “Mpoyganikia” and “Kakana” (bagels) made in many parts of Thrace for newborns.

“Doyntopita” for the child’s first tooth, “Stratopita” for his first walk. In the baptisms they distributed Sweet rusks, and with well-groomed bread the mothers back the gifts that the Godfather sent to to her child on the eve of the Lights in the first three years.
